Cast of Characters – Robert J. Townsend of “The Seafarer”

Contrary to what a weekend night spent people-watching in the Gaslamp District might lead you to believe, it takes amazing talent to successfully act overly imbibed. The ensemble who will gather around the poker table and engage in dramatic, comedic dialogue for “The Seafarer” at the San Diego REPertory Theatre is a diversely accomplished one that is sure to appeal to a wide array of audiences.

Robert J. Townsend is one of the gentlemen playing his hand and sharing insight into his world in San Diego REPertory Theatre’s “The Seafarer.”  Prior to joining this cast, Robert has in his history quite a list of roles, sure to impress.  He spent time at the Starlight Theater as Joe Hardy in “Damn Yankees,” and played Anthony in “Sweeney Todd.”

Additionally, he toured in  “Grease” and played  musical theatre favorites such as  Billy Crocker in “Anything Goes”; Man #1 in “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change”; Freddy in “My Fair Lady”; and Curly in “Oklahoma!”.

Also not to be overlooked, Robert was awarded a Los Angeles Ovation Award for Best Leading Actor in the lead of “Jekyll and Hyde.”  Don’t miss this accomplished, young Southern California theatre talent, one of the very accomplished cast of “The Seafarer.”
